Mother swan
The mute swan (Cygnus olor) mother near Murrayfield along the Water of Leith walkway.
Just after the eggs were laid, the male died (cause unknown) but the mother has managed to hatch the cygnets, due to people throwing brown bread and lettuce near her, so that she didn't have to leave the nest to feed.
Not a great photo, but I didn't want to get too close and disturb her further...
M and I had a lovely long walk along the walkway today, we saw so many potential blips that I've uploaded a set to the other place, including a Devil's Coach-horse, some Welsh Poppies and another heron fly past.
