Destination... my life

Gaudi day

Finally, we had all day just for us and for Barcelona. Even though it was another night with not much sleep, everyone got up early to start real sightseeing. The plan was ambitious: long walk along the Ramblas, Gaudi casas, Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, beach and shopping.

Already at the begining we realised there will be no shopping, as it was Sunday and most of the stores were shut. Therefore, we focused on sightseeing. We saw Casa Battlo' and Casa Mira' - two incredible buildings designed by Gaudi. Then we were stunned by the Sagrada Familia which I had already seen before, but which amazes me every time I see it. It reminds me od the sand castles made on the beach when I was just a kid, but when one takes a closer look you notice more details and shapes.

It was really hot that day, probably around 30'C, so we were really happy to have some relaxing break in the Park Guell. Surrounded by tourists and crazy architecture, we enjoyed the sun and felt like on real vacation. Well, at least I did.

It was to late for sunbathing when we reached the beach of barcelona, but still warm and sunny enough to enjoy sangria in one of the beach bars. It was sooo nice.

We finished that amazing day in one of the restaurants right on the beach trying more seafood (luckily most of us were fans of seafood) and more Spanish wine.
