Before...
Seemed appropriate to blip the much-photographed Port Sunlight War Memorial today on the 70th anniversary of Dunkirk. The memorial will be covered up this summer so that the bronze statues can be cleaned and given a protective coating. They may well look very different afterwards so I'll try and do an "after" photo from the same spot when it's finished.
This is the largest UK war memorial outside London, designed by R. W. Goscombe John and completed in 1921. One of its unique features is the inclusion of women and children among the statues.
