Poppies... poppies... the poppy with a hat?

Morning always dawns with a whisper here, and even the sun seems to creep quietly over the ridge, nudging the fog along on its way. I woke early to the singing birds and took my (new!) camera for a walk a while later just as the sun was making itself known in full force. The poppies are still absolutely everywhere and are still absolutely brilliant. I had a hard time making a choice again today as it must have been a photogenic day, but in the end, had to choose this poppy wearing a hat of grass gone to seed.

That never-ending list of things to do has followed me to Italy, and I've added a few items in celebration of the day. It is a special day, and life is good, so very good.
