Scarce Chaser apparently
I know, I did one of these a few days ago, but this is different, this is a blue one :) According to the RSPB man its a male scarce chaser.
This morning I was rudely woken by Freya, at half seven, she was somewhat aggitated and told me that wishes do not come true because last night she wished for a new scooter and one had not arrived, and asked if wishes dont work how was she meant to get stuff. This was way to much for me to answer so early.
I really wanted to go to a particular river today, perfect for children as its shallow and clean but Rob said it was too far, so I spent the morning flopping about and whinging , its what I do if I dont get my own way, it has got me much stuff in the past :D
In the end Rob said "lets go out" he didnt say where, I like it when he does that because we could end up anywhere, not always where I want to be though.. Todays excursion started off in town, I knew we werent going shopping , but where ? what exciting place were we going too ?
Oh, the latest marine fish shop, I started huffing and moaning, he said "You can take photos of the fish" At this point I did THE FACE, if you are female, or indeed have a wife, you will know the face "I DO NOT WANT TO TAKE PHOTOS OF CAPTIVE FISH"
We only stayed awhile, I faked interest, then we headed off towards the A14, the road of death that terrifies me and ended up at Fen Drayton Lakes, a nature reserve, huge lakes and walks and The Great Ouse River, we walked a long way, saw birds, a heron, that I got eaten alive by mossies trying to photograph, then some people in a boat scared it away and lots of insect life. I am having trouble keeping the camera still enough with the big lens (technical term!) on, I have decided I need a monopod, the tripod is too much of a faff in a hurry, and too heavy.
Back home for dinner, red thai curry :) then watched Dr Who , put Freya to bed and relaxed :D
YAY for summer days, a great family and mystery outings which end up ok in the end
