Collecting the eggs

Dad cooked us scrambled eggs this morning for breakfast. Spence was being a bit difficult getting dressed, he had a long sleeve top on but wouldn't put anything on over the top of it. I had given him the choice of about 4 shirts but it wasn't until Dad (Grandpa) came in and had a shirt on, that Spence would put his shirt on that was like Grandpa's shirt! He also wanted to put his own shoes on and ended up with two different ones on!

Dad took Spence outside to collect the eggs from the chooks. They each took out an egg carton, Dad would get the eggs out of the nest then hand them to Spence who would put them gently into the egg carton! Spence loved it! They collected 16! It had been a couple of days since they had been collected!

Dad and I then took the tractor and trailer and went and cut some wood. Dad's next door neighbour has a paddock that joins ours that has lots of old dead fallen trees in it and doesn't mind Dad going in there and getting wood for himself. Dad cut it with the chainsaw and I stacked it in the trailer. We got two loads and cut up a bit more for Dad to get later. It was nice to spend time with Dad knowing that I was doing something helpful for him!

Spence went down for his sleep and by the time he woke up it was 4.30 and about to rain so I decided that we would stay another night here and then drive back in the morning! Kaz wasn't home anyway so there is nothing to go home for! We might help Dad get another load of wood in the morning then head back.

I have to work tomorrow night, first night back after a month off!!
