red tailed hawk

"The eyesight of a hawk is eight times as powerful as a human's. If a hawk could read, it could read a newspaper from seven stories high, or see a mouse in a field a mile away, but, the reason hawks crash into fences is they are far sighted."

as i was entering my dermatologist's office (red-head alert) this hawk swooped down and sat in a tree about six feet from the front door, almost eye level. he/she was intently watching the ivy patch below, no doubt having just spied a fat rodent. this is a case for ALWAYS having a camera with you.
