NORWAY #6: This is the life.

A relaxed day to end our trip, lazing around at the side of the locks of Ulefoss.

We watched the young "lock wardens" busy themselves speeding boats through the lock gates. There is something leisurely at the pace the water forces you to adopt.

Similarly, one of the lasting memories of this country will be the low speed limits on the roads. It's remarkable how much more relaxed you are conditionned to be, simply by being required to drive more slowly. I don't think it was just that I was on holiday...

I shot this image of a Norwegian gentleman enjoying a cup of coffee where we had just taken lunch. It was a superb lock-side cafe at Vrangfoss. Very well worth frequenting. Norway had saved her culinary best until last.
