Fifa Soccer World Cup Kick Off

At last!! After 6 years of counting down!! Phew!!

I hope almost all of you were fortunate enough to watch the opening ceremony this afternoon! I think it was absolutely brilliant!! Wow, South Africa is proud!!

The first match, Bafana Bafana vs Mexico, what an exciting game!! We would've loved a win, which was not as impossible as everyone initially thought, but ended in a draw, 1 goal each!! Brilliant Bafana!! You made us really proud!!

I noticed that Google even uses Tshabalala's awesome left footed goal as their logo for today!! ;-)

The whole of South Africa was just shocked to it's core to wake up to the very sad news that Madiba's great- granddaughter, only 13 years of age, died in a car accident last night!! Oh my God, what a terrible thing to happen, what a shocking experience for the 92 year old icon of peace all over the world!!

This day was supposed to be a very proud day for him! He finally anounced yesterday that he wanted to attend the historical occasion today, although he is very old and frail, but it is totally understandable that the was not up to it after this tragic incident!

Pleace accept our deepest condolences Mr Mandela and family! Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this very difficult time!

I thought, a picture of Chino's operation would be the best choice for today! She is very uncomfortable, but the medication really helps to keep her calm and quite pain free! R jnr chose this picture, where her sister greets her when we took her out for a wee-wee just after we arrived home from the hospital with her!

Here is anotherpicture of her, sitting on R snr's lap, the wound is clear here, 9 stitches, too terrible for such a tiny little critter of 2,4 kg!
