Antiques
I dropped by a motor museum today, thinking that I could get something to blip, that neither flew nor grew; it is actually the National Drag Racing museum and as I have absolutely no interest in drag racing, (in fact until recently I thought it had something to do with cross-dressers doing a marathon), I was delighted to find that there was an 'Antique Auto Museum' there as well. There were some fine old American cars there, but difficult to shoot as they were crammed in side by side, and covered with information signs. After walking around for a while, I began to have an uneasy feeling; I had in fact driven, or been driven in some of these models. Certainly, I knew a dashing young Pilot Officer, who drove one of those MG TKs; and there was the wonderful Ford Station Wagon with the wooden sides that I ? no, no! Enough reminiscing. Then, horror of horrors, there was the car in which I took my driving test; not the same car, of course, and I have to admit it was a year or two younger, but surely, not ready for the 'Antique Auto Museum'! Yes, there it was, the VW Karmann Ghia in which I terrorized the area; I once went straight over a roundabout, because I couldn?t remember whether to go left or right. (I still have that trouble, when I return to the UK, since we don't have them here!) So here she is, far too young to be marooned in a museum. I wish I could spring her, and take off on a road trip to Peru, a couple of old girls together. Oldish.
