Looking at the image of this weed, it reminds me of another nuisance ... called vuvusela .. But I can say something positive about this purple trumpet - it makes no noise, yet it is extremely hardy and refuses to give up, despite being cut down to less than its size.

It is raining and pouring at the moment - we rejoice. Our water tanks will push over the brims if it keeps on raining through the night ... The bonus is icy cold weather, and we expect to see the mountain tops dusted in white when dawn breaks.

With similar weather conditions, tonight's Fifa game in Cape Town could surely not have been the most pleasant - wet and bedraggled and cold to the bone!
