What were these things that once someone made them?
Why were they left behind to wither and decay?

The newspaper probably dates to the 1960's although it fell to pieces when I pulled it out of the wall of the room we're decorating. The doll's were my daughters and although loved, they certainly took a fair old battering over the years. The son found them in the garden shed under some foosty (mouldy) grass.
