Light entertainment!
We spent today exploring Kowloon.
Firstly we went to the Hong Kong Museum of Art It's full of amazing Art, pottery and antiquities and we were in there for a good few hours.
Wandering round the museum worked up an appetite so we headed off to the Jade Garden for a Dim Sum lunch. We took the fact that we were only 1 of two tables of tourists in the packed restaurant as a good sign and it was.
Although I've now learned that I definitely don't like the slimy steamed type dim sum, but that I definitely do love mini spring rolls!
Well fed, we walked off lunch by heading up to the Science Museum, where we saw an amazing Dinosaur Exhibition We also played on a lot of the interactive exhibits and pretended we were 5 again for a bit!
Long walk back to the hotel, via Kowloon Park where parrots flew overhead and the locals rested from the heat.
Our hotel is attached to a very glamorous and huge shopping mall, complete with it's own dock and entrance for the massive cruise ships that dock in Victoria Harbour. The mall actually makes up the back edge of our hotel reception and can be accessed from the lift. This is very odd (but common in Hong Kong) and it does mean that there are some amazing restaurants available without leaving the hotel, which is perfect after a long day walking.
We had some brilliant modern Chinese food in Ye Shanghai tonight, then sat on the viewing platform at the bay and watched the Symphony of Lights show which is put on every night.
This is where the skyscrapers and other landmarks 'dance' and show off using lights and lasers, in time to music that sounds like it belongs in an American 1970's shopping Mall.
Each building is introduced and does a little turn with it's lights/lasers and the whole thing is cheezy as can be, but is actually really enjoyable and a lot of fun!
I'm so glad we decided to stay on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong, coming home to this view at the end of each day is something I'll never forget as long as I live!
