Almost seven!

This morning before I took granddaughter A home, we (which of course included Uni...see in her left hand?) took a walk out behind our house...looking for wildflowers...which we found plenty of. The grass was still quite wet...which meant that by the time we returned home...I had to throw her shoes and socks in the dryer so they would be dry for the drive home! While we waited for them to dry, we had fun doing a bit of reading and drawing...then got the car packed and made the trek home. We did have some breaks along the way...stopping for lunch at Wendy's...her choice, visiting Barnes and Noble, and Toys-R-Us. Once we got home, well before any other member of her family arrived, we enjoyed more playtime in her backyard...and more reading time inside. All in all a most wonderful start to summer! Tomorrow is A's birthday...and she will be 7! I'm just glad she still enjoys spending time with Granny and Granddad!!
