Day 14 - Springdale to Las Vegas
Up early again, breakfast at the Bumbleberry Inn (service gone down a bit since visiting 3 yrs ago!) and then set off for Las Vegas down I-15. Before we know it the mad city appeared like a mirage in the desert, it's building jutting out into the sky.
Said our goodbyes to the hire car - thanks for not breaking down! 2300 miles we did - eeek. Cab to the Flamingo Hotel and upgraded to a funky 'Go' room full of plasma screens, iPod stereos, pink lights and even a TV in the bathroom - ace.
Walked up the Strip as far as the Fashion Show Mall, through Caesars Palace, The Mirage and Treasure Island, then back via the Venetian. All mad, but as long as you view them with a healthy dose of heart attack inducing salt you can cope with this place. We love it.
Friends Dan and Pam arrived mid afternoon and ended up in the room next to us! Just had a great steak n frites dinner in 'Paris', watching the Bellagio fountains across the street.
Las Vegas - weird, exciting, depraved, unique. See ya tomorrow.
