Bruine Vloot

Literally means 'Brown Fleet'. It started around thirty years ago with the restoration of some old sail powered freighters. These ships started carrying passengers to the Frisian islands. And soon it became a fleet indeed. The only problem was that there were more interested passengers than ships. This was solved by converted old hulls from vessels that never carries any sail at all. Three (steel) masts were put on the ship and an old Dutch name painted on the bow.
Everybody happy and especially the owners of shops and disco's, because 95% of the passengers is youth below their twenties.
