Tonight we met up with Volk & Judy's friends Jei, Allan and Phina at Taiwan's largest night market. There's a massive variety of food available here and some of the more unusual things I tried were duck's blood with stinky tofu, chicken ass and beetle nut. On the more pleasant end of the cuisinary spectrum was a type of ice-cream which looked like candy floss or a freshly baked loaf of bread as you tear it open.

There are some vendors who set up a table in the middle of the street but this is illegal in Taiwan. As we were walking past a group of these vendors a warning came in through a walkie talkie about policemen approaching. They swiftly gathered their things and disappeared down a side alley.

It's a fascinating place in which you could easily spend hours exploring.
