communing

I had a hard time deciding which picture to post today. No picture can do the reality justice of seeing the whirling dervish in Islamic Cairo. And I couldn't have asked for better company with Scorpionkiss and the oldest and most wonderful friend a person could ask for on either side of me.

I chose this one because I think it embodies what the experience is all about for these men. I would like to think that there was more than just performance. That they forgot about us, the audience, and were communing with God. And we were just lucky to be there, in the shadows, watching.
