Woohoo!
Went on helicopter flight today over London, that Matt and Nat gave me for my 40th.
It think it was the best 'thing like this' that I have experienced. I have been in helicopters before but not with a view and not over London!!
For those in the know -
We went out over Sutton (and I could see Stanley Road!), then basically up the A217 to Wimbledon, followed the South Circular to Putney over Craven Cottage along the Thames to LDN then along to the Dome then over Blackheath, Crystal Palace Wallington (Wilsons!) and back to Redhill. Luckily there was a plane taking off from City airport so we had to do laps of Westminster/Waterloo/South Bank until it went.
Interesting to see-
-how green alot of London is
-that from Belmont to Wimbledon/Morden it is a sprawling mess with not as many green spaces as you would think and it all looks identical. (Ironically there were more big parks nearer town) It didn't make me feel great to be from Sutton.
-I don't know why sometimes but I love London, warts and all. (I spend alot of time wondering why this is!!!)
