Sparkling 60's kitsch.

This tiled decoration is on the facade of our school entrance and it is part of the reason why it is a grade two listed building. We are due a new build now we are an academy but this building has to be kept. When the metal window frames let the rain in this seems rather a ridiculous decision, but today, with the sun shining on the tiles making them sparkle, they do look rather nice - if of their time.

It was a good opportunity to photograph them today as there were no students in school except one or two doing exams.

Schools are rather nice places when the kids aren't there!!
