WOODIES

A juvenile Great Spotted Woodpecker was on the peanuts yesterday where its Dad was feeding it. This evening it was the Mother Woodpecker with a young one and she succeeded in showing it how to feed itself. He looked a bit bewildered but did manage to get some nuts out on his own. They are incredibly noisy, chipping away, so its easy to know when they are there.

The longest day of the year and another beautiful one. All downhill from now on, particularly thinking about Wednesday afternoon. Still trying to decide whether to have the afternoon off or not.
