Rattlesnake !!!

Found this fellow on the #5 Tee at the Preserve Golf Course this morning.

Fortunately he was on the Gold tee and we were playing from the Platinum tees. So we took his picture and then left him alone. In turn he left us alone. This is the best policy for everybody.

He didn't change his pose at all and did not seem bothered by four humans gawking at him. He almost seemed lethargic; perhaps he had just finished his lunch.

Not being a herpetologist, I expect this guy is a Diamondback Rattlesnake. Note the rattles and the diamond-shaped head.

Watch where you step when you are in the desert.
