Another Chinese Paeony

It's hard not to blip the Chinese Paeonies when they are at their peak. Their flowers don't last long, so we need to enjoy them thouroughly when they are here. The fragrance, the splendour, the grandeur...what more can we ask of a plant?

We had a fantastic Sunday at the allotment - the weather was sunny and rather hot. Fortunately we had a light cooling breeze and tried to stay in the shade as much as possible.

After two days mostly spent relaxing we needed to get back to gardening again. Z spent the afternoon tidying up the border along the front fence - and planted a row of London Pride (Saxifraga umbrosa) there. M was mending a window and put up the new curtains. When that was done he weeded the veggie garden, spread fertilizer and planted two varieties of kale.

Hope you had a brilliant Midsummer/Midwinter weekend too!
