Looking at Oostmahorn

Today we did a hike of 9 km (short one, I know) at the Lauwersmeer area.
Only the two of us were present, the hiking party is getting smaller and smaller...
This is a look from a lookout post towards the small harbour of Oostmahorn, which was the former station of the lifeboat before the dike was closed around the former Lauwerszee.
After that the sea turned into a lake and the salt water turned into fresh water....
Nowadays the Lauwersmeer is a well known recreation and wildlife area.This is a look down from the bird-watching tower.
