They think it's all over... it is again!

You have to feel for my newspaper colleague Mike. He has tasted World Cup disappointment not once, but twice in the past week.

For Mike is a Kiwi and he was rooting for the All Whites until they bowed out at the group stage, despite not having lost a game.

Today he was backing England... and we all know how futile that choice can be.

So after a four-goal pummelling from the 'old enemy', there was no longer any need for those photographic props that come in so handy when hopes are high and England are still apparently the greatest team in the world.

At least New Zealand left Mike with some happy memories - I'm sure he will never forget the day they held the reigning world champions Italy to a draw.

England? Forgettable from beginning to painful end.
