Scarlet Pouch Fungi (Weraroa erythrocephala)
After all the rain and a fine day ,it has been ideal weather to go fungi hunting.
This Scarlet Pounch Fungi is sometimes called a Tobacco Pouch They are found on decaying wood and litter in broadleaf -conifer forests.
Cap 20-40 mm high, 20-60mm diameter. This one is 20 mm high and 20 mm diameter and is flanked on either side by native Kahikatea tree seedlings.
