With mountains like these

The boys emerged from the tent unscathed and dry after a very rainy night. I found it distinctly difficult to get up and then had to charge round finding all our clutter, wash bedclothes, pack up the tent and then pack our clothes (the three T shirt idea worked well after all). I felt terrible that I couldn't sit calmly and chat with Mrs Pepperpot before we left. She must feel like a whirlwind has hit and then gone.

We took the train to Liverpool and then raced off with AKHF to eat excellent oysters, clams, fishcakes and moules et frites Italian style. Puddings were devoured and then we sprinted to the surprise - the opening night of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Empire. It was fantastic. Ahhhh, the smell of the greasepaint, marvellous sets and incredibly believable hydraulics. "And this is a true story" said Agu at the interval. It was hard not to break the magic.

We emerged into a fantastic City evening, with a red sky behind St. George's Hall. I was very impressed the way Liverpool has opened out skywards, though Lewis' demise and a few gatherings outside the Adelphi were a little less romantic. The taxi ride home lulled us home. What a great day. Thanks Anna!
