Firebox

I put a tea-light candle into the firebox to gently speed up the cement drying process. Otherwise I would have had to go without the fire again tonight. Today it has been sunny and mild, perhaps not such a hardship as it was last night.

Looking at a macro of my work I see that it's not as neat as I'd hoped, and worse still, I missed a crack. Never mind, the crack is supported on a ledge, and who's going to be looking at my messy work? The most important thing is that the iron of the boiler is protected from the direct heat of the fire.
