i've taken photos this past year that i love, but something gets lost by the time i finish processing them. they aren't perfect straight out of the camera, but they have potential. and i muddy that up with impatient coloring or imprecise softening, or a fail to preserve the original clarity of the image. granted, i've been using picnic mostly, because i don't have any other photo editing on my computer, and picnic is certainly not the highest quality program.

but this picture, i love. it is what i want it to be.

i go to south dakota next friday, with twelve rolls of film. this trip cannot come soon enough.
