Toadstool

Happened to spot this mushroom, toadstool, fungus, call it what you will, under a wooden bench in the back yard. I figured I should take a photograph before I started on the yard work and some mishap occurred with the mower.

I tried to find out its correct name but drew a blank. The closest I could get is that it belongs to the phylum Basidiomycota. Perhaps a keen botanist out in Blipfoto world can come up with a more precise label.

No sign of the pixies though. :-)
