4th of July
We spent the morning at church with a great message from the pulpit entitled 'What One Thing...?' It was a message that got the thought process going and got me looking inwards to challenge myself. It also made me realize how much I miss being in the service, as I'm so used to being with the kids in the classroom. I do enjoy teaching, but it's nice to be listening and contemplating once in a while as well.
Afterwards we went shoe shopping with Loren. He is now in a men's Size 9 shoe at only 11 years old! I keep teasing him that he'll soon grow into those 'paws' of his! I am surprised at how fast he is growing :( Sniffle, sniffle.
We were invited to a 4th of July BD celebration with friends we know through little league. The husband threw his wife a great party and everyone hung out and chatted while the kids played baseball with things such as foam bats and aluminum foil balls! It's a good thing it was just balled-up aluminum foil, considering it hit the neighbor's car quite a few times! :) I love how kids can find fun in any form. I captured this blip photo for the day when the night was coming to a close. I thought this firework they set off in the street reminded me of a volcanic eruption and lava flow. Then again, the host had offered me two too many margaritas at that time. hee hee
