Round Lake

This is being backblipped on July 6. For the beginning of this story click here.

Our second day of hiking began at the trailhead for the Bear Lakes Loop. Again, there was wonderful weather, beautiful wildflowers, spectacular blue lakes, and gurgling streams. There was quite a bit of snow on the trail in places and one stream crossing meant wading in over the tops of our boots. The snow made the going a little more difficult, and we were hot and tired by the end of a relatively short hike--about five miles.

We had another wonderful dinner at a local restaurant in the evening, but no one slept too well. The room was noisy and hot--then cold. We resolved to change rooms.
