Surely this doesn't belong here?

Having seen B's example of feeling worse for wear the morning after the night out before I'd decided to take it easy and enjoyed the retiral celebration of J just as much with just one glass of red wine.

Glad I did that because this morning I had to keep four girls entertained on my own in a very windy Edinburgh playground. On the way there they were discussing "pretend" games and L asked L to be the daddy. Her reply? "I can't be a man because I'm a woman!" I thought that was a bit much from a 5.5 year old and told that being a woman could wait - luckily - and that she was a girl for now. I am glad that my girls still think and behave like girls/boys of their age.

Parenting is such a challenge sometimes and I feel it a lot of the times and this morning I was challenged quite a bit. It helps to speak to older, more experienced parents and listen to their advice. And there's always Philip Larkin and his poem.

This was the only blip on my camera for today so it will have to do. I understand traffic cones on statues but don't understand the misplacement of big objects like this. I hope it found its real home again.
