Madame - holidays day 6
It truly is a very quiet place that Jean Louis and Monique have. Their garden looks amazing too, not as ravaged by the sun as the grand parents garden, due no doubt to the protection of some of the trees round about. JL told me that it only snows about once a year. It is quite tricky to consider a hose pipe ban being from the wettest nation this side of Atlantis but France looks not far off that. I wonder if this means the authorities will come round and put all hose pipes into drought quarantine? Hmm, the heat often does for me thoughts.
We wandered into the beautiful town of Quimper, where Madame's Grandmother used to live. Quimper really is an easy place to navigate and the Odet which crosses the town still has a large collection of basking fish just hanging around.
Ste Marine beach in the afternoon, actually a fair number of people but by no means supermarket busy. The water was crystal clear, but actually
pretty damn cold. Maybe that is why the supermarket was busy instead? Caught a crab and a fish, in our small beach bucket.
Back home later on, took another wrong turn and the girls were excited to see Agathe and Douglas (pronounced Dooglass) a large black labrasomething who initially scared child #1 but now looks like she wants a dog. Spain control Germany which means that a team which has never won the world cup will win it this time, which I'm very happy with. The fall out following France's dismal performance goes on, we had a very interesting discussion about this.
After much deliberation, I decided to opt for a photo of my wife with child #1 in the background.
