Wailing Wall
We went for a the day to .Jerusalem , the city where I was born and raised until I was 10. I will always have a special place in my heart for this special city.
The city has changed so much in the last 15 years, becoming more religious, more extreme, and expanding to all directions. The holiness is sometimes becoming a heavy energy that makes you feel tired.
For some reasons I had an urge to go to the old city, to the wailing wall- the remains of a wall of the old Temple that was the holiest place in the world.
It was so hot so I didn't stay long, the place was quite empty probably because it is Shabbat- and because it is a holy day where working is forbidden (including using electricity) I didn't take many pictures..
This lady is probably an African piligrim, she was praying and sobbing while her little boy was looking at me curiously.
You might be able to see that there are little notes in the cracks- it is a tradition to write down on a paper a request for god and put it in the wall. once in a while the wall is cleaned and the notes are kept and once a year it is burnt during the Jewish new year.
