Race Night?
backblip
Not a good day for blipping, but still a mighty fine day nonetheless.
Started off with a misleadingly titled Charity Race Night. Misleading in that it started at 2pm in the afternoon. I think the thinking behind that was the Racing would be done and dusted just in time for the World Cup final.
After that we jumped on the train and headed off to Stirling (Alloa was VERY quiet; think a lot of the 24 hour party people that normally frequent the toon on a sunday were bopping away to Eminem and such-like along the road at T In the Park). Ended up in the Spanish Quarter of Stirling to watch the Dutch lose out to Spain. I think I was in the minority in hoping Holland would have won this time, but good to see Spain winning anyhow. Now we know what to expect when Scotland play them in October in the Euro 2012 Qualifiers. Mmmmmmm...
Last train back to one of Alloa's finest hostelries, the happiest and most alcohol soaked pub on the planet that hasn't been decorated since the 1970s and was packed with DIY 'Love' and 'Hate' tattooed knuckle draggers - and that's just the wummin - but has the type of atmosphere that none of those sterile bass-thumping warehouse type rip-off places could ever manage. Live Music too, although not really sure if the wee guy trying to play guitar and sing at one end of the bar was being paid or had just taken upon himself to start a wee sing-song.
Mashed tatties and cheese to delay the inevitable hangover was the last thing I remember before waking up on the couch at 4am and heading to bed.
So, not the best of photos today, but it's at least in focus and not blurred like the remainder I took later on with the beer lens on. I was sure there were some beauties in there when I looked at them last night too, funny how that happens, eh?
Happy Days...
