Who needs coffee when you can jump into Lake Superior first thing in the morning?

....gichi GAMI!! Whew! ...it is that chilly still in July. But it feels so delicious letting the early sun evaporate the cool water off your skin. So fresh and alive, eady to jump into the day full smile.

For the first time on this trip we slowed down to stay in one place for two days and it was great. We were able to take it easy, indulging in the trappings of town life a bit, tourists and all via Bayfield harbor.

Without kayaks the only other way to get out to most of the islands is by ferry and so we visited Madeline Island that way taking the ferry across. Lounging on the beach, reading my oh so great book, catching a World Cup match, and eating ice cream.
