Derelict Factory
In my local town of Arklow, there are many signs of better times in the past. This one predates even the famous Celtic Tiger by quite a long way. To the best of my knowledge, this plant for the bottling of propane gas, dates form a period in the 1960's when Ireland was just beginning to emerge from its slumbers and to provide employment for its people.
Like so many things though, it outlived its useful life and was abandoned before the tiger's roar was even a whimper. Now crumbling into decay it houses
only several flocks of nesting and roosting birds and the graffiti artists who have liberally daubed everything which hasn't already fallen down, with their own peculiar brand of "art".
