For centuries, the use of sea water has been recognised as an aid to the treatment and prevention of leg problems in horses. Swimming or wading in water provides superior aerobic exercise without any of the stress on the tendons, ligaments and muscles of the leg that traditional, weight-bearing on-the-ground excercises create. Also, post-surgical cases benefit greatly from this more gentle type of rehabilitation and exercise. Here, Steel Bridge is enjoying his daily twenty minutes in the water.
