Style, or what???
My niece, Gillian, tries her best with her aging aunt. She bought me a matching pair of flip flops called "Rocket Dogs", and this is us posing for a blip. You can tell the wonderful manicured nails etc. which separate the old from the young.
When she bought me these, and I tried them for the first time, I couldn't get them past the bunions. After I had a laugh at this, I managed to get them on, with a bit of a struggle.
To let you understand, I have not worn anything remotely elegant or fashionable for 20 years. Since I moved to the Highlands, waterproof shoes and hill walking boots have been the order of the day.
And they are SO HIGH. (This shot does not do them justice.)
I realised when I put them on that Dimairt was having to crick his neck to see me, and that the sink in the kitchen was far too low. I swear, I felt like one of these Japanese women who totter about on wedges all day.
It was either the extreme height I now had, or the fact that I was laughing so much, but I swear I got altitude sickness......
