Assignment 15 - The Back Yard

Its been a cold dismal day today, and I walked around the garden looking for inspiration. Its not a large garden, so it took all of a minute! Our garden is built for enjoyment. Too small for a lawn, particularly if you add in a large dog, however it is wonderful durring the summer - we eat outside at least 5 times a week. Nothing beats sitting outside with the warm morning sun beating down as you eat toast with a nice mug of tea. With the baskets and pots it even looks nice in the rain.

This time of year it looks a little sad though. A bit neglected. The plants in the baskets and pots are dying back, the apple tree is devoid of fruit. Rather like its been 'shut up' for winter prematurely. Rather like my son's shop. The playhouse is used for hiding in, storing things in, eating in, playing shop in, eating sweets in (but I don't know about that!) and finally as a shop. The sign has been like this for a few weeks now - I do hope he doesn't go into retail when he is older!
