Flying
Lola and Roo found a nest with four chicks in belonging to the thrush that lives in the garden. Two didn't make it and two are in a shoe box chirping away. When I open the lid they open their mouths and I feed them small bits of strawberry and dried mealworms. It seems to go down OK. I'm not sure what to do with them - they look almost ready to fledge and are quite lively. If I put them in the garden one of the cats is sure to find them. We go away soon, so hand rearing until they can fly is not an option. A dilemma. This cottage is beginning to feel like an animal rescue centre.
This is Murron flying - a power conveyed upon her by the birds by way of thank you....after all we all need to fly some times.
