Today's the day ................ to stay in and make jam
Another day of unbelievably savage rain that beats everything in the garden to a pulp! Are we the only part of the country that is having this? Please don't say that we need it to fill the lakes and make things green ........... WE'VE HAD ENOUGH NOW!
Nothing for it but to stay in and make jam - or Three fruit marmalade and Confiture de casseilles to be precise. This is the first year that we have had enough casseilles to make jam. Casseilles are a cross between gooseberries (groseille) and blackcurrants (cassis) and are from a proper french cutting given to us a few years ago by french friends.
So at least the kitchen has been full of the summery smell of fruit ........ while the rain pours down!
