Rob's Room

Today's the day ................. to talk to Rob

Rob is my younger son, and at present he is eight months in to a year spent travelling round the world. Now he is about as far away as it is possible for him to be because he is in Australia.

But today he phoned and we had a great chat - and it was just as if he was down the road!

I like to go sometimes and just stand in his room here - not that he has lived with us for several years. The room that is his has always been very important to him throughout his life. Wherever he has lived, he has always made it very much his own by painting it in his own style and filling it with things that mean a lot to him - pictures of his friends, mementos of holidays, various bits of furniture that he has made, books ............

And his room here is no exception. It is full of things that remind me of him.
