Oh. My. Gods...
the arrival of atex...
suffice to say that other than the first day i was left in charge of the business section (after working at the paper for a whole four days and still unsure of how to switch on my screen) i have never been so terrified to the point of not sleeping and feeling sick at the thought of a day in the office. i was not alone in that sentiment, either.
i can't begin to explain how horrific today was, to be honest, just be assured that all 12 hours (with no break) were ghastly, i felt like i was repeating the dialogue of the first scene of 'four weddings and a funeral' on a continuous loop and generally wanted to run screaming from the building never to return.
<insert rant against those who inflicted this system on the world>
<insert even more bitter, pithy and sweary rant about those who inflicted this particular permutation of this system on our office>
(and yet the paper came out, and the foreign pages looked pretty much like foreign pages always do. *sigh*)

i've backblipped a little - i recommend this chap in particular!
