Myrtle Blossom
A few years ago,5 or 6 I think, we visited a local garden which was at the time in the process of passing out of private hands and into the public sector. It is now part of the National Botanic Gardens, a sort of outreach in the provinces. Towards the end of our walk we came across this forlorn little "stick" in the ground, which we duly liberated, brought home and planted.
Our Myrtle is now over 2 metres tall and has just come into bloom. The very heavy rain we have had this past few days didn't do the new blossoms any good but by and large they have survived and this morning when I saw the sun beaming for the first time in a week, I just had to go out there and record it for blipping.
