The Nineteen Arches

.....Well most of then anyway!

This is the longest arched river bridge in Ireland, spanning the Avoca River at the approach to Arklow's Main Street. There were originally nineteen arches supporting the structure but there are only eighteen visible now. The 19th one was filled in many years ago. Without a wide angle lens in the car this morning, this was as much as I could include. I think you will probably count about fifteen. If you ever come here from the Dublin side you will have to pass over this bridge to get into the centre of town.
