Big Sur

Ever since I heard the Thrills sing about Big Sur in their hit song a good few years ago, I've wanted to visit the place. There's something about the name "Big Sur" that made it sound like it would be fascinating to see. Today we got to find out.

We left Santa Barbara and headed on the 3 hour drive north, most of which took us on the California 1 Highway. The 3 hour drive took us more around 6, not because of heavy traffic but because of large number of "Vista Points", great photo opportunities.

Here's a photo of some kite surfers. Great fun to watch. I'm guessing great fun to try as well, but we'll leave that for another time.

I think I have found my new favourite place in the world, a phrase I have used several times on this trip so far.
