Santa Cruz Pier

It was one of those days, so many photos, which one to choose as my photo of the day.

After only being awake for 3 hours we had already seen Pelicans, Guillemots, Seals, Otters and Sea Lions all in the wild.

If you ever have a spare $10, head to Point Lobos State Park, better than any zoo.

But the photo I decided to upload for today didn't come from there, it came from an hour or so up the road at Santa Cruz. On the pier there were some seals. We were alerted to them by the noise they were making. 25 seals in total, all fighting for their space in the sunshine. Some young, some old, it was a wonderful sight.

This seal sat smiling as it basked in sunshine. And if you think this is a zoo, think again, this is a wild seal within touching distance.
