PENNINE WAY POET

Simon Armitage arrived in the village this evening, during his north to south walk of the Pennine Way, and as is the way of a wandering minstrel, he performed for his supper. This was his fifteenth day of the walk and he was reading in pubs, schools and halls at each stop along his route. He was very entertaining, both in his poetry and anecdotes, though he had already walked twenty miles today and the weather has not been too kind. I hope he is now enjoying a well-earned pint in the pub.

I have just been clearing cupboards and shredding papers again today and feel kna...... very tired, so goodness knows how he feels.
